EDIT THE REGISTRY TO REMOVE APPLICATIONS Windows 9x-compatible programs should have an Uninstall executable that removes the program from the Windows installation. Uninstall should also remove the program from the list of programs registered as installed in the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs list. Sometimes, however, it isn't removed properly. In these cases, you may wish to manually remove the program from the list. Here's how: Open the Registry Editor (Regedt.exe). Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersionUninstall. Highlight the key below this one that relates to the application you want to remove. Press [Delete]. Exit the Registry Editor. Restart the computer. If you need more information to determine which key to eliminate, look for the DisplayName value in the keys to match up the value to the entry in the Add/Remove Programs list. NOTE: Editing the registry is risky, so be sure to have a verified backup before saving any changes. | ||||
