DISPLAYING AND PRINTING THE EURO SYMBOL
Generating the supported euro symbol is a separate
issue.
If
your computer keyboard does not have a euro key, you can access the symbol
in the supported fonts (see the previous TechMail or the link below) with
the following key sequence.
For US keyboards, press [Alt]0128 (hold the [Alt] key
down, type 0128 on the number pad of the keyboard and then release the
[Alt] key).
For UK keyboards, use the key combination above or
press [AltGr]4.
For more information, including additional language
support, take a look at Microsoft's euro FAQ.

Many
printers use resident fonts that do not include the euro symbol. To prompt
the printer to use TrueType fonts that contain the euro sign, follow the
instructions below.
Click on Start | Settings | Printers.
Highlight the required printer.
3.
From the File menu, select Properties.
4.
Select the Fonts tab, and then select the Always Use TT Fonts
option.
5. OK
your changes.
Certain Windows 95 applications will not support the
euro symbol without being specifically updated. For example, Notepad in
Windows 95 will not display the euro sign, as it uses a font that does not
support the symbol. Updating the Notepad default font will solve this
issue. Versions of Internet Explorer prior to IE 4.01 Service Pack 1 are
not fully euro-compliant and may have some difficulty displaying the
symbol. IE can be freely upgraded from the Microsoft Web
site.
