COULD CD PLAYER BE THE PLAYER FOR YOU?

WinAmp, RealPlayer, and Windows Media Player are outstanding media players, but Windows' built-in CD Player (Cdplayer.exe) is perfectly adept at knocking out a good tune without the bells and whistles, memory usage, and complexity of its larger cousins. The problem is that each time you install a new media player, the new player typically tries to become the default CD player.

If you want to revert back to the original CD Player in Windows 98, open Explorer, click View | Folder Options, and click the File Types tab. Click Audio CD Edit | Play | Edit, and in the Application Used To Perform Action field, type c:\windows\cdplayer.exe. (Replace c:\windows with the folder that contains Cdplayer.exe.) Click OK | Close to save your changes.
