The origins
of some great symbols are unknown or very obscure within the creeds
and superstitions of ancient beliefs. The great Chinese tradition
has bequeathed us many mythical beings with a particular emphasis
on the dragon. And, as well, the mysterious and mystic symbol which
is represented by the Yin Yang picture.
These symbols
apper universally in Chinese alchemy which can be traced down to a
very remote antiquity and were later absorbed and incorporated into
Taoist doctrines.
Little if
anything is known about the dragon's and Yin Yang origin possibly
because they were born in the vessels of China's primeval artists,
indeed long before being incorporated into alchemy and Taoism - not
only - they might have been their inspiring source.
What about
the origin of the symbolic six-pointed star?
