. The mind behind the war with Iraq . |

Not a statistician nor a neurologist, I am nevertheless convinced that if you raise the number 2 to a power numerically equal to the number of the inhabitants of the earth two brains mirroring each other – identical in all respects – can not be found anywhere in the cosmos. This brings in an immense difficulty in trying to understand the motives behind individual choices. Quite likely we have to reach conclusions by sifting through a large collection of known data, real facts, inference, hypotheses and self-biased induction nor any two brains will get the same result concerning the brain under scrutiny. Here I am thinking of Mr. George W. Bush and the psychic make up of the man who launched the war against Iraq, a war unacceptable to the majority even if far well aware how little of a saint Saddam Hussein may be, and several hypothesis came to my mind.
Any of the above hints may hide more or less truth – so far all that we can do is just to hypothesize according to our standards and remembering the saying that "Even God won’t judge a person till after he has died" and so I should keep to Zeno’s teaching: "Choose silence of all virtues, for by it you hear other men’s imperfections, and conceal your own." And choosing this will put me also on the safe side, why should I tell you that my mind suggests me that he is a paranoid when personally I don't have any consistent data to reach such a conclusion? |
